Dear Friends:

Well it's nice to know that spring is just around the corner and we are all looking forward to the daffodils!  There have been quite a few sightings by the rotary and up by the hospital, but ours are not quite ready yet.

The Homestead is having its 8th annual fundraiser, "Paint the Town Red", on Saturday evening, April 13th at The American Legion Hall.  Our committee this year is Chris Iller, Linda Roberts, Diane O'Neil and Jim Richards.  The evening starts at 5:30PM with cocktails, followed by a prime rib dinner, live auction and Chinese raffles.  Bob Lehman will join us again this year as our auctioneer and entertainer,  we can count on Bob to keep things interesting throughout the night!  Items for the auction and raffles are greatly appreciated!  Please contact any member of the committee or call Tish with any items for pick up, or any suggestions you may have.  We appreciate all your input very much.  This is a very fun evening filled with lots of laughter and generosity from all our winter friends.  Tickets are $30, and they sell out fast, so please call for yours soon!

Things have been fairly quiet around The Homestead this month.  The weather is good enough on most days to allow for walks around the neighborhood, and Jane, Bill and Jerry can be spotted walking around the block on most afternoons.  The construction next door is winding down; hopefully they will be done in time for summer.  We are looking forward to meeting the new owners, and have been promised a tour of the house once they have it furnished.

We have a few birthday celebrations coming up in April.  On the 2nd we wish Jody a Happy Birthday, on the 16th Lucy Murray will celebrate hers, and Bill Rowland will celebrate his on the 21st.  Happy Birthday wishes to all of you!

Many thanks to Paul Connors for singing some Irish tunes to us this month; we so appreciate his generosity and everyone looks forward to his coming by!

There are still vacancies at The Homestead!  Please remember us as an option for friends or family that may be looking for a wonderful place to live.

Enjoy these early spring days with lots of beautiful light and all the pre-summer activity that happens on the island.

Take care,

Tish
