Dear Friends:

We are quite happy to be on the other side of this winter.  The daffodils are sprouting, and the landscapers are out cleaning up the debris from this destructive winter.  Daffodil weekend will soon be upon us, a nice event to ease into the change of seasons.

Our landscaper is busy!  We had several arborvitae branches come down this winter, not to mention the front lawn that is in quite a state needing to be leveled out and re-sod.  We trust they will do a great job and it will be looking fabulous in no time at all!

Bob Mooney has left us again to return home for the summer.  We all wish him well and he expects to see us again next winter!  Mary Zimmerman remains in Florida at this point.  She is expected to return at some time in April, and we are really looking forward to seeing her.

Paul Connors and Susan Dupree have been entertaining us this winter!  Susan has played the piano, while Paul has led us in singing a variety of older songs quite familiar to our residents.  Paul came by to play his guitar for us and sing some Irish songs for St. Patrick's Day.  We thank them for all their time, and appreciate their talents!

The Homestead held its' 10th annual "Paint the Town Red" fundraising event on March 21st at The American Legion Hall.  It was another wonderful evening, with great food, lots of laughs and very generous people that made this event the most successful ever held.  We offer our deepest thanks to the "Boys" at The Legion for another outstanding meal, and to Bob Lehman for his fabulous auctioneering throughout the evening.  We are lucky to have such support for The Homestead in our community.

In April we will celebrate two birthdays, Lucy Murray on the 16th and Bill Rowland on the 21st!  Happy Birthday wishes to both of you-coincidently both turning the same age!

As the weather improves, we are sure to get outside and enjoy the spring!  Any one that is interested please feel free to stop by and visit us, or come and share a special talent with us.  We look Forward to seeing you.

Take care,

Tish
